HOW TO CREATE AWS EDUCATE ACCOUNT WITHOUT CREDIT / DEBIT CARD

 


Amazon Web Services Educator graphicFor Educator Accounts:

  • Step 1: Access the AWS Educate website here and click Apply Now.
  • Step 2: Click to Apply for AWS Educate for Educators.
  • Step 3: Enter the information requested on the AWS Educate Educator Application form.
  • Step 4: Verify your email address and complete a captcha to verify that you are not a robot.
  • Step 5: Click-through to accept AWS Educate Terms and Conditions.

After the Educator application is submitted:

  • You will receive an email indicating that the application was received.
  • AWS Educate will review the application and perform any necessary validation.
  • After you are accepted, a welcome message will be sent to your email address. The message includes a link for you to create a password for your AWS Educate account to access the AWS Educate – Educator Collaboration Portal, links to training and other benefits, and an AWS credit code.

  • Step 1: Access the AWS Educate website here and click Apply Now.
  • Step 2: Click to Apply for AWS Educate for Students.
  • Step 3: Enter the information requested on the AWS Educate Student Application form.
  • Step 4: Verify your email address and complete a captcha to verify that you are not a robot.
  • Step 5: Click-through to accept AWS Educate Terms and Conditions.

After the Student application is submitted:

  • You will receive an email indicating that the application was received.
  • AWS Educate reviews the application and performs any necessary validation.
  • After you are accepted, a welcome message is forwarded to your email address. The message includes a link for the AWS Educate Student portal and an AWS credit code.
  • Verify your account:

    1. Head to https://www.awseducate.com/student/s/ and sign into your AWS Educate Starter account.
      • Find the account status information, which looks something like this: 
    2. Click on AWS Console to sign-in. If you have a pop-up blocker on, you may need to disable it. Additionally, if you already have an AWS account, you will be required to sign out before accessing your starter account.

    Step II: Existing Account (not recommended)

    1. SETUP: 
    • If you want to use an existing AWS account,
      • Check if it is affiliated with your wustl.edu email address. Do not use your private email address/amazon account!
      • To find your account ID, Sign In to the Console and login with your password. You will see something like this:

      • Click on your username in the upper right corner, followed by My Account and copy the Account Id under Account Settings.
    2. GET STARTED:

    Important: Do only use this account if you have credit! To check, ding-in to the AWS console, click on your username near the upper right corner and then click on the second to last item called Credits on the left side. This site should list your available credit. (console.aws.amazon.com/billing/home?#/credits)
